Found a name, programme or document error after submitting an application?
Read the correction rules before uploading again. Record the error, request, school approval and final amendment separately, using the existing application number.
If a submitted application contains an error, read the institution’s correction rules first. Sending another file or creating another application does not by itself amend the original record. Identify the application and error, use the designated contact route and check the eventual result.
Separate draft editing from post-submission correction
Ghent Global Campus describes an admissions-office correction request. Ewha’s Spring 2027 guidance restricts changes after completion. Check the applicable process first.
Being able to log in does not establish continued editing rights. Identify whether the record is a draft, finally submitted or completed with payment and an application number.
Make a short correction request sheet
Item | Provide | Check |
|---|---|---|
Application | School, department, intake and number | Identify the correct record |
Error | Submitted value or file | Locate the precise mistake |
Correct information | Actual facts and evidence | Keep explanation and evidence consistent |
Request | Ask about procedure and permission | Establish the route and deadline |
Outcome | Reply and amended record | Check what has and has not changed |
Send only the information needed to understand the issue initially. Do not manufacture content absent from original documents. Distinguish a spelling difference from an actual academic or grade error.
A name correction is not a change of programme
Spelling, missing evidence, factual grade correction and a request to move departments may follow different rules. Ask which process is available rather than assuming approval of your preferred result.
For example, if passport name order differs from application fields, show both and ask for the approved correction method. If you want another department, do not describe that preference as a typographical error.
Verify the amendment, not just the sent email
Sending a request and receiving approval are different states. Confirm whether the office received replacement evidence and whether the application or submission list changed. Use any specific channel the school designates.
Keep the earlier submission alongside later evidence so interviews and follow-up enquiries use a clear reference. Mark the final accepted version rather than deleting the history to simplify the folder.
Coordinate any partner request
Have the student verify the facts and request, and agree who will contact the institution. Connect the student’s, partner’s and headquarters’ communications to one application number to avoid inconsistent explanations.
Use the free roadmap for preparation before applying. For document assistance with a submitted case, review GEA services and provide the school, department, intake, application number and precise issue.
