Which admission-document mistakes should you check?
Check names, dates, the admission route and authentication, then separate uploads, original delivery and final records.
Compare a short checklist before submitting
Submitting the exact records in the form required by your route matters more than collecting many documents. Separate the university and visa lists, organise common records once and add route-specific items. Use the checks below before submission.
Match names and dates
Compare your English passport name with academic records and the application. If order or spelling differs, check the institution’s correction or explanation procedure. Verify date of birth, graduation date and degree details too. Do not alter numbers or translate names arbitrarily to force a match.
Match documents to the admission route
Do not prepare freshman documents as if they were a transfer checklist, or reuse graduate materials unchanged for a language course. Check the actual department, teaching language and form for the chosen route. Verify whether partial transcript pages are accepted and whether originals or copies are required.
Check authentication and issue dates
Translation and authentication can be separate procedures. Read the requirement attached to each document to distinguish notarisation, apostille and consular authentication. Not every document requires identical authentication. Plan records with issue-date limits around the submission date.
Keep submission records
Record where originals were sent, which files were uploaded, arrival deadlines and receipt confirmation. Link additional requests to the original submission to reduce duplicate orders. Use the current university or consular instructions for the final list and acceptance of records.
Track online upload and originals separately
An uploaded file does not complete postal-original or post-admission authenticated-document requirements. Record where each item goes, its form, its deadline and how receipt is confirmed. This comparison covers official instructions from two application rounds that have already closed.
KU Seoul Spring 2027 international transfer
- Online submission: PDF uploads under the guide
- Initial originals: Specified originals separately required to arrive by 7 September 2026
- Final academic records after admission: Check that university’s guide and admitted-student instructions
- Applicant abroad needing a visa: Check the relevant route’s instructions
UNIST Spring 2027 graduate second round
- Online submission: Application-material PDF upload under the guide
- Initial originals: Distinguishes initial academic evidence from final authentication
- Final academic records after admission: A separate stage for final authenticated overseas records
- Applicant abroad needing a visa: Final-record deadline for this situation: 15 January 2027
KU’s initial postal requirement cannot be replaced by UNIST’s post-admission schedule. Equally, UNIST’s statement that initial apostille or consular authentication is not required does not create an exemption at other universities. Similar records can serve different purposes at different stages.
Complete four status fields before sending
A simple “document available” box can hide the fact that a PDF exists while the original has not been posted. Track issue completed, scan/upload completed, required original/authentication stage completed and university receipt confirmed separately. A shipping receipt and university receipt confirmation are different evidence.
In a fictional example, a student uploads a transcript PDF but leaves the original on a desk. Only the online stage is complete. If the route requires originals to arrive, check application-number labelling, address and arrival deadline before sending. Track carrier delivery and the university’s document status separately.
If the required form or final issue date does not fit, tell the university which records are available and when the final document can be issued rather than substituting a document yourself. Keep the answer with the application. Linking degree-document availability with final authentication helps avoid repeated issue and shipping.
