Is TOPIK mandatory?
Key information
TOPIK is not universal for every route. Distinguish Korean-taught degrees, English tracks and language study; check admission, scholarship and graduation separately.
Korean-taught study
Check the programme’s test and level. General undergraduate guidance mentions TOPIK level 3; this is not a confirmed rule for every university or department.
Without TOPIK
Ask about English-track requirements or accepted alternatives. Acceptance at one school does not establish acceptance elsewhere. Compare language preparation with direct entry.
Three separate purposes
Make three rows: admission, scholarships and graduation. Record evidence and deadlines for each, instead of a single “TOPIK requirement”.
Result dates and validity
Official TOPIK results are valid for two years from announcement. Match the result date and submission deadline, and check the accepted report format.
General preparation checklist
- TOPIK requirements for the programme and major
- English tracks or accepted alternative qualifications
- Score validity and submission deadline
- Requirements after admission and for graduation
Application pathway
Check the intake and programme on the university page. If information is missing, include the selected university and your questions in the consultation.
Official resources
This is general preparation guidance. Confirm school-specific conditions, fees and permission decisions with intake-specific official sources and the responsible institution.
