When submitting your Korean student visa application at the Consulate, applicants from Top 2% universities are usually required to undergo an interview and are only exempt if they already hold a TOPIK certificate. However, there is no need to worry—the interview is not as difficult as you may think.
Just focus on studying Korean and preparing your documents according to the guidance provided by GEA. We will support you throughout the entire process, from handling paperwork to improving your Korean language skills.
The purpose of the interview is for the Consulate to assess whether your Korean language skills are sufficient for studying in Korea. You will also be asked basic questions about your personal information, family background, educational history, and your true motivation for studying in Korea.
To do well, you should have a clear and realistic study plan—know what you want, what program you will study, and what your future goals are after graduation. Be sure to understand every detail in your application, as well as your family information, to avoid inconsistencies during the interview.
To feel more confident, think of the interview as a simple conversation where you share your study plans in Korea. The Consulate is not as intimidating as you might imagine!

Study Korean:
You should study Korean for at least 2–3 months at GEA before the interview to ensure you have enough vocabulary and knowledge to understand the questions and test content.
Join GEA Interview & Korean Language Classes:
Participate in GEA’s training sessions for embassy interviews and Korean language practice to strengthen both your knowledge and confidence.
Dress Appropriately:
Wear neat and appropriate clothing that resembles a student’s appearance. Avoid revealing outfits or ripped clothing.
Understand Your Documents:
Be familiar with all details in your application, including information about yourself, your family, and your study center.
The Korean study-abroad interview typically consists of two main parts:
| Part 1 | Korean Language Test |
|
| Part 2 | Direct Interview |
After completing the Korean language test, the Korean Consulate will evaluate your test results to determine how many questions to ask you, either in Korean or Vietnamese.
They may also ask additional questions based on details in your application, including your educational background, family information, and other related personal data. |

The Korean student visa interview is not difficult as long as you study carefully and stay calm to avoid nervousness during the interview.
During the test, do not look at other applicants’ papers. This creates a negative impression and may cause your test to be taken away, potentially leading to visa rejection.
Answer the Korean test questions briefly and to the point, as the allotted time is limited—only respond to what is being asked.
Always show a positive attitude, politeness, and a genuine desire to study in Korea.
