We did it! I graduated!
Congratulations! But graduation isn't the end of the plan. It's the next step.
So what are my options?
There are four main paths. Let's walk through them.
Path one: stay and look for a job.
Graduates of Korean universities can get a job-seeker visa, D-10, for up to three
years, one year at a time.
Once you're hired, you can apply to change to a work visa, E-7.
Path two: get hired before you graduate, and move straight to E-7.
Can I get E-7 for any job?
No. E-7 looks at how your major or experience fits the job.
With a Korean degree, a job related to your major is the key.
Employers have requirements to meet too, like salary standards.
Check the latest rules when you apply.
Path three: graduate school.
Go on to a master's or PhD, and stay on a student visa, D-2, for the new program.
Path four: go home and work with Korean companies or organizations there.
Your Korean and your degree travel with you.
One more thing: Korea is reorganizing its work visas, so names and rules may change.
Always check the latest information.
Job search, hired early, grad school, or home. I like having options.
Quick check: which visa lets you look for a job after graduation?
E-7: your major or experience must fit the job
