I finished my language course! And I got into a degree program!
Congratulations! Now there's one more step: changing your status from D-4 to D-2.
Here's the flow.
Finish your language course, get admitted to a degree program, then apply to
immigration to change your status.
What TOPIK level do I need?
That depends on your school's admission rules.
Check the requirement early, while you're still in language school.
Here's an example.
Mai studied Korean on a D-4 visa, reached the TOPIK level her university asked for,
and was admitted for the fall.
She applied for the change soon after her admission letter arrived,
well before her D-4 stay ran out.
The fee for a change of status is one hundred thousand won,
and your school will give you the document list.
If your stay runs out before you apply, you may have to leave Korea and start over.
So: admission letter first, then apply right away.
Exactly. Next, enter your expiry date and your goals to build your stay calendar.
Then, in our last module: life after graduation.
See you there!
