So what actually keeps my visa safe?
Four habits. Let's go through them one by one.
One: know your expiry date.
Each D-2 or D-4 stay is granted for up to two years, and you must apply to extend
before it expires.
Don't wait for the last week.
Check the application window with your school or on HiKorea.
Two: attendance and grades.
If they're low, getting a part-time work permit or an extension can become harder.
How low is too low?
Standards differ, and they can change.
Ask your international office for the current rules.
GEA also offers phone consultation on your stay, wherever you are in Korea.
Three: if you move, report your new address within fifteen days.
Late reports can mean a fine.
Four: pay your health insurance every month.
Unpaid premiums block your benefits and can cause trouble when you extend.
Expiry date, attendance, address, insurance. Got it.
Let's check: your stay expires on June thirtieth. When should you apply to extend?
