The deadline is tomorrow?! But I still don't have my transcripts!
Most application problems start months before the deadline, not the night before.
Months? I thought applying was just filling in a form.
It's more like a relay. Let's walk through the five steps.
Step one: you apply with copies of your documents.
The school reviews these copies first.
Step two: an interview.
Depending on the school, it may be online or in person, in Korean or in English.
Step three: the admission result. If you pass, you get an acceptance notice.
And then I'm in?
Almost. Step four: pay your tuition by the school's deadline.
And step five: send your original documents.
Wait, why send the originals so late?
Because originals are hard to replace.
Many schools check copies first, and ask for originals only after you're admitted
and have paid.
Now, let's plan backwards.
Korea's academic year starts on March first, and many schools also have a September
intake.
Pick your target semester, then count back.
Authentication and translation can take weeks, so start your documents first.
Your school's admission guide has the real dates. Write them on your own timeline.
So the clock starts long before the application opens.
Exactly. An early start gives you time to fix mistakes.
Quick check: can you put the five steps in order?
