Okay, the costs are real. Can scholarships help?
Yes. And the most reliable ones are earned with scores.
Many universities lower tuition for good TOPIK or English scores.
Here's one example.
This is Dong-A University's table for new students.
The higher your TOPIK level, the bigger the tuition reduction.
Remember, this is one school's example. Every school has its own rules.
Then there's GKS, the Korean government scholarship.
For selected students, it covers airfare, tuition, Korean language training, and a
monthly allowance.
GKS again! How do I apply?
It's announced every year, through Korean embassies and universities.
It's very competitive, so check Study in Korea for this year's notice.
And here's the part many students miss.
Scholarships are earned, and kept, with your grades.
Many schools check your grades every semester.
If your grades drop, the scholarship can shrink or stop.
So it's not a one-time gift. I have to keep it.
Exactly. Now, let's make your plan.
Download the budget sheet.
Fill in each item for your school and city, then add up your first-year total.
Then tell us where the money will come from, and which scholarship you'll aim for.
Next up: how to apply, step by step. See you in Module 4!
See you there!
